Our History

A Unique Journey in a Promising Market

Aluminium du Maroc is the first Moroccan company specialized in the design and manufacturing of aluminum alloy profiles for the construction and industrial sectors.
Founded in 1976 in partnership with the Péchiney Group—later acquired by Alcan and subsequently by Rio Tinto, the global leader in the aluminum industry during the 2000s—the company has since seen Rio Tinto’s shares transferred to various Moroccan investors as well as to the stock market.
Backed by a highly skilled team of engineers and senior executives, Aluminium du Maroc possesses unique expertise that is recognized both in Morocco and internationally.

1976 – Founding of Aluminium du Maroc

1976 : Incorporation of the company with a share capital of MAD 0.1 million by the
             late Abdelaziz El Alami
1977 : Start of construction of the plant in the Mghogha Industrial Zone, Tangier
1979 : Share capital increased to MAD 10.50 million
1979 : Inauguration of the plant and start of operations
1980 : Share capital increased to MAD 13.80 million

The integration of industrial and logistical operations on a single site in Tangier is a major asset.
